Healthcare professionals in the National Capital Region (NCR) have noted a significant rise in cases related to heat-induced conditions recently. Hospitals have reported increased patient traffic in outpatient departments (OPDs), attributed to the ongoing extreme heat.
Dr. Mugdha Tapdiya, the director of the Department of Internal Medicine at Fortis Hospital in Vasant Kunj, stated that there has been a notable upswing in symptoms associated with heat exposure. Patients are presenting with various ailments such as dehydration, heat exhaustion, heat cramps, and heatstroke. Common symptoms noted include dizziness, headaches, nausea, fatigue, and decreased blood pressure.
The uptick in heat-related health issues coincides with ongoing hot weather conditions affecting the region. Medical experts have reiterated the importance of staying hydrated and taking preventive measures against the heat.
