Kangana Ranaut Supports Isha Koppikar’s ‘Andhbhakt’ Remarks

Kangana Ranaut backs Isha Koppikar’s declaration of patriotism, emphasising love for India over political allegiance.

Kangana Ranaut, the Indian actress and Member of Parliament representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has voiced her support for fellow actor Isha Koppikar following Koppikar’s recent Instagram video. In the video, Koppikar described herself as a proud ‘andhbhakt’, a term that typically refers to a fervent supporter of a political party, but clarified her allegiance is solely to the nation.

In her post, Koppikar expressed her feelings towards India, emphasising that her devotion did not align with any political entity but was directed at her homeland. Koppikar stated, “Yes, I am an andhbhakt… my blind devotion is not towards any political party; it’s towards my country. Nation first.” She encouraged citizens to consider their contributions to ongoing national progress rather than solely focusing on what the government has provided.

Kangana Ranaut, sharing her thoughts on Koppikar’s message through her Instagram Stories, recounted her history of activism from school days, including protests against violent acts such as the 26/11 attacks and the Nirbhaya case. She remarked, “I love my country, I love my people. I simply love my life.”

Koppikar’s comments also addressed the concept of patriotism, asserting that true love for one’s nation involves active participation and contributions towards its betterment. She advised against mere declarations of love, stating that real dedication manifests in actions that improve the country.

In the context of her support, Kanna has previously stirred controversy herself, criticising recent protests by the younger generation in India, describing some protestors using derogatory terms. She later clarified that her remarks were not meant to generalise the entire youth demographic.

The dialogue ignited by these statements has sparked discussions on patriotism and civic responsibility, with both actresses advocating for love of nation above political affiliations. As citizens remain engaged in national issues, the influence of public figures like Ranaut and Koppikar continues to shape perceptions around devotion to country versus government allegiances.
