Release Date for ‘Peddi’ Delayed to April Amid Film Competition

The release of ‘Peddi’ has been postponed to April 30, 2026, as filmmakers adjust to competition from other major films in the Telugu cinema landscape.

The release of the eagerly awaited film ‘Peddi’ has been postponed to April 30, 2026. Initially slated for March 27, 2026, the decision follows recent changes in the film release schedule that have resulted in heightened competition.

Among the films competing during this period are Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar 2’ and Yash’s ‘Toxic’. Both projects had drawn attention, prompting the producers of ‘Peddi’ to reassess their strategy. On Tuesday, director Buchi Babu Sana announced the new release date via social media, stating, ’30-04-2026. #PEDDI.’ The film’s lead actor, Ram Charan, further shared a new promotional poster emphasising the revised date.

Moreover, the release of ‘Dacoit,’ featuring Adivi Sesh, has also shifted, moving from its original date of March 19 to April 10. This series of changes leaves the scheduling for Nani’s ‘The Paradise’ uncertain, which is still set for a March 26 release. With these adjustments, the focus will remain on the upcoming release of ‘Dhurandhar 2’ and ‘Toxic.’

‘Dhurandhar 2’, a sequel to a film that performed remarkably well at the box office, grossing over ₹1000 crore worldwide following its release in December 2025, has generated significant buzz. Its predecessor garnered critical acclaim, continuing to attract viewers even after its debut on Netflix.

Similarly, ‘Toxic,’ directed by Geetu Mohandas and featuring Yash, has been produced in both English and Kannada, with plans for simultaneous releases in various other South Indian languages along with Hindi. As Yash’s first project following the immensely popular ‘KGF’ films, expectations are running high.

The adjusted release dates among the films signal strategic moves by producers to optimise box office performance and audience reach. As the competition heats up, film enthusiasts look forward to seeing how these new releases will perform against one another in a dynamic marketplace.
